We launched out of the Morehead/Chapel Hill area of the Crystal Coast at 08:00 on June 23rd with Jack for a Full Day Inshore trip. The morning bite built steadily as the tide worked down toward the late-morning low (5:05 AM high 4.29 ft; 11:39 AM low -0.064 ft; 5:46 PM high 4.823 ft), and the warm water — holding at about 85.1°F — had fish moving and feeding in the shallower flats and near-structure.
By mid-morning we had settled into productive spots and enjoyed a consistent day on the water. Jack and I ended the trip with roughly ten fish brought to the boat, with Red Drum and Flounder making up the catch. It was a straightforward, enjoyable outing — the tide change and comfortable water temperature put the fish in the right frame of mind and kept the action steady through our four-hour window.
We wrapped up at 12:00 with smiles and some solid memories of the Crystal Coast in summer. Thanks, Jack, for getting out early and making it a fun day on the inshore grounds — I look forward to fishing with you again soon. Tight lines. — Captain Brian Blinco
