What to expect
Pace: steady, full-day inshore trip with multiple stops for drifting, sightcasting, and light bottom work. Expect active periods alternating with relaxed cruising and short waits while baits settle. Fishing: targets include speckled trout, red drum, flounder, sheepshead, and bluefish; expect mixed action and opportunities for sight fishing around grasslines, flats, oyster beds, and creek mouths. Comfort: boat is exposed to sun and sea spray; expect occasional rocking, brief wakes, and cooler breezes offshore. Crew will provide instruction on tackle/technique; wear non‑skid shoes and be ready for up to eight hours on the water.
What to bring
Layered clothing: lightweight moisture‑wicking base, a warm mid‑layer (fleece or light insulated jacket), and a waterproof windbreaker. Sun/weather protection: wide‑brim hat or cap, polarized sunglasses, high‑SPF sunscreen, and a buff or neck gaiter. Accessories: non‑skid shoes, gloves, small dry bag, spare ziplock for phone, basic tackle items if requested, and a small first‑aid kit/personal meds. Hydration/food: at least 1–2 liters of water per person plus electrolyte drink, and portable lunch/snacks (sandwich, protein bars, fruit, nuts). Bring motion‑sickness remedies if you’re prone.
